1238 The Battle of Iceland is an interactive and immersive historical experience that brings you into the middle of Viking battles and historical events. Welcoming to people of all ages the exhibition offers its guests to take part in Icelands history through virtual reality. Step back in time and fight alongside the Vikings.

The exhibition stages the most famous Viking battles and events of the age of Sturlungs (1220-1262). It incorporates cutting edge interactive technology that transports you into the past. There you can take part and experience one of Iceland’s most fearful battle; The battle ofÖrlygsstaðir first hand. That battle shaped Icelandic history and was the beginning of the end of Iceland’s independence.

Viking World’s main attraction is the magnificent Viking ship the Icelander (Íslendingur) and historical VR Viking battle. The Icelander sailed to New York in 2000 as part of the millennial celebration of Leifur Eiríksson’s journey to the New World.

The museum is deveoloped around the story of Vikings expansion across the North Atlantic. The exhibition was produced in cooperation with the Smithsonian Institution in USA. It runs an VR Viking experience, a gamification of history built on our scalable VR platform along several of our interactive products.
